WORLD PEACE STATUE.

WORLD PEACE STATUE - NORMANDY
This is the World Peace Statue which is situated at Grandchamp Maisy in Normandy, France.
It is made from stainless steel - weighs 16 tons and is 10 metres tall.  It was designed by Yao Yuan and was shipped from Guangzhou the capital of South China's Guangdong Province.

This is a beautiful sculpture. Every city, town and village should have a sculpture for world peace.

What a heavy challenge. Great work though. Impressive indeed. Thank you for sharing the details as well. And yes, it might be a huge question as well, with regard the promise of safeguarding peace. Please have a good Friday.

Well, it IS a beautiful work of art, however... i do not much trust the Chinese Govt's desire to promote peace. The people maybe, but not the Govt. I just look to the atrocities perpetrated on the (Tibetian) people for years, the environmental issues, etc. I'll have to look up this artist. Thanks for sharing & may we all live in peace one day.

Hi Becky,
Glad that you picked up on the point I was making with this photo and description.
I posted it on the day the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded..!

I have been to Tibet a number of times over the years ( I am a western follower of the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism) and have seen for myself some of the atrocities perpetrated on the people and the country.
Thanks for your comments.

well then, this statue is for me (;o)* for my belief and...path of life! Peace...if only it could be!

Maybe it is the Chinese people's desire (not all of them, though), but...what about all the political aspect? unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be what the *others* think. Look at some of the peoples' faces: their gaze or smile, doesn't seem to be peaceful...

We should all do something to help Peace become a fact of life, all over the universe and...outer space.
