STYLISED HEAD - HENRY MOORE.

STYLISED HEAD
This stylised head is part of a sculpture called  'Reclining Figure:Angles' by Henry Moore. The face seems to have a fascinating calmness about it which appears more obvious the longer you observe it.

SCULPTURE IS AN ART OF THE OPEN AIR - Henry Moore.

The hole of an eye is so expressive despite it´s simplicity.

Trevor I see this differently now. I always thought he looked a little perplexed. You are right.....I'm the cynical pleb.

Might be the knowledge of him, that the world and its content will pass by, trying to catch up, while he remains where it his, even afterwards...how hopeful, for him.

Please have a good new week.

Trevor - Everyday many years ago I walked by the Henry Moore at the AGO in Toronto. I would stop and gaze at the curves, peaceful curves. His work makes people stop for just a moment, stop and gently puts us in our place in time.

Great post.
